HS2 is more than a rail line it is an artery…and what do arteries do?

We posted little earlier on the whiff of political trouble for the Tories emanating from the results of a recent ComRes poll relating to HS2.

By way of counterbalance, this thoughtful piece from The Conversation reinforces some of the key economic and social arguments which drive the HS2 strategy.

Connectivity between UK centres of population and economic activity is vital to growth. Equally importantly, that connectivity has much to offer in terms of urban regeneration.

The cities of the future will stand or fall in terms of their intra- and extra- connectivity and HS2 will be a key component of the latter.
