Public Procurement Data: scarce, hidden and lacking in consistency.

Excellent blog post from Sandra Hatfield over at Tenders Direct coming out of a recent Scottish Government Report on public procurement data.

Reform is all well and good but if the available data is scarce and difficult to obtain (and when we do get it we are comparing apples with pears) how will we know what is happening?

Measurement is an important tool in the process of development and growth – and public procurement data certainly does need a greater degree of consistency and transparency.
