What does the future of private sector mass market eProcurement look like??

The renaissance of eprocurement has been a theme on the Blog for some time (see this post on how eprocurement can add to efficiencies http://tinyurl.com/pnouwwa) and we have noted that, slowly but surely the downsides of the early forays into this area of procurement are beginning to be eroded.

In the linked article, Peter Smith looks at the M-hance Marketplace and wonders whether it is a template of the future of mass market eprocurement.

He notes that the key drivers will be both the range of products available and pricing. We suggest that of equal importance (and Peter does touch on this as well) is how “aerodynamic” the system is in operation, ie how intuitive, how integrated, and how costly to install and run is the necessary infrastructure.
