Not procurement as such (except that we will be procuring a benefit for the NSPCC – see what we did with that?) but we thought you might be interested.
Here’s what we have said on our just giving page:
“Recently I heard a man called David Tait tell how he had been abused as a child one summer and how it took him 30 years of pain caused to himself and others to come to terms with it.
I also heard how he has climbed Mount Everest 4 times to raise money for the NSPCC.
It is not hard to understand his motivation – there was no NSPCC to come alongside him, love him and help him after he had found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time: now the NSPCC can help children in the position he was in to deal with abuse and to have a chance of a life afterwards.
David’s story inspired me and I have decided to pick the Oldham 10k on 23 June 2013 out of my race schedule and use it to raise money for the NSPCC to continue its good work.
David was a normal child, from a good and loving, supportive family – he was, quite literally – in the wrong place at the wrong time. Why should ANY child have to bear that kind of burden, alone, for the rest of their lives?

Anything you can do, would be brilliant and every penny will make a difference.
