Cabinet Office: Establish centralised “Crown Procurement Service” on an Open Book Basis

In evidence to the Public Administration Select Committee review of public procurement Cabinet Office COO, Stephen Kelly, advocated the establishment of a centralised Crown Procurement Service which would be run on an open book basis.

Normal principles of commercial confidentiality would be abandoned to allow for transparency across the government procurement estate.

In this, he apparently has the support of his Boss, Bill Crothers.

We confess that the blog did sneak a peek at the calendar to be sure that it was 28 March 2013 and we had not yet reached the first day of next month….
