CSR rather than bottom line still drives corporate sustainability strategies

On 4 September we posted around the issue of sustainability as an index of efficiency and effectiveness promoting it as a business tool to encourage investment.

The Global Corporate Renewable Energy Index, published by Bloomberg New Energy Finance (“BNEF”) and Vestas shows that of the companies surveyed, sustainability efforts are still principally driven by the objective of “greening” the brand rather than by contributions from sustainable activity to the bottom line.
