Coe to Amnesty International: Olympic Procurement from Dow not tainted by Bhopal

As this Civil Society article notes, Amnesty International has turned to art to express its protest against LOCOG’s procurement from Dow Chemicals.

Amnesty want LOCOG to acknowledge the legacy responsibility which they say Dow carries for the Bhopal disaster in 1984.

In his response Lord Coe distances Dow from the ownership at the time of the disaster and declares the Dow procurement to have been clean.

Precisely what “Buy Social” means clearly has a lot to do with who is using the expression.
